The Mushroom House is an innovative initiative aimed at addressing key agricultural and socio-economic challenges in India through sustainable mushroom cultivation. This project seeks to mitigate issues such as agricultural waste, unemployment among youth and women, low mushroom production, and malnutrition. By developing low-cost, eco-friendly, solar-powered cultivation units, The Mushroom House provides comprehensive training to unemployed youth, women, and marginal farmers, enabling them to cultivate mushrooms on a small scale with a buyback option. This model not only promotes economic resilience by sharing profits with growers but also emphasises environmental sustainability through waste recycling. The project plan includes setting up a central mushroom production unit, implementing community-level installations, establishing market linkages, and fostering sustainable agricultural practices. Ultimately, The Mushroom House aims to create a healthier, more sustainable ecosystem while generating economic opportunities for marginalised communities.
